Packing Healthy for Work 8/8 + Birthday Weekend Recap


Sorry I haven’t posted a packing-healthy post yet this week! In truth…I really haven’t packed anything *hangs head.* I was too distracted/tired on Sunday and just spaced it on Monday night.

On Sunday Mr. Nest & I went on a Livingsocial wine tour with two other couples we’re friends with.  We visited St. Croix Vineyards, Northern Vineyards and Chateau St. Croix. We bought some wine for Mr. Nest’s Mom who was watching the Tot, and one bottle from Chateau St. Croix for us, plus some fancy goat cheddar. The goat cheddar is a really interesting combination of goat cheese and cheddar. I’ve never had firm goat cheese before. I like it. 🙂  We had lunch at the Water Street Inn. It was nice to sit outside by the river!

Monday was my birthday. Another year older, no big deal, but everyone seemed to make it a bigger deal than I did! One friend brought cupcakes along to the wine tour, which was so sweet of her, we had a joint birthday snack of cake + ice cream at work and Mr. Nest made pan-fried pork cutlets, mashed potatoes and spinach salad w/ hot bacon dressing for dinner with potstickers for an appetizer and brownies w/ ice cream for dessert. I’m spoiled. 🙂

Anyway, here’s today’s food:

Breakfast: Breakfast sandwich + coffee from home (no picture)

Lunch: Spinach w/ roasted turkey breast, fresh sweet corn, 1/2 small avocado and goat cheddar.

Snacks: Honey Noosa (this is an indulgence, it’s not low calorie, but it’s sooooo good,), an ounce of Kerrygold aged cheddar, and a pluot.
